Talking Some questions for you all

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting to this forum so to get to know the people who post here I want to ask a few questions.
    1. What is your experience in sewing/quilting?
    2. Do you piece by hand or machine?
    3. Do you quilt by hand or machine?
    4. What is your favorite kind of quilting (applique, paper piece, crazy quilt, piece blocks, etc)?
    5. What kind of sewing machine do you have?

I hope you will all give me a reply. But first I will answer.
    1. I have sewed for years and have finished a couple of quilt tops, but have only finished one completely so far.
    2. I have only pieced by machine so far.
    3. The one I quilted I did by hand, but plan on doing the next one on my machine.
    4. I love to piece blocks, but I like to paper piece also.
    5. I own a viking Rose. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

I will talk to you all later.

Learned to sew in high school
Just started to quilt 2 years ago
    Finished 4 quilts All machine

I am now doing one by hand but I don't really like it so I might finish it with the machine.

I like pieced blocks I love getting secondary patterns.

    I don't know my machine, a sears I think.

Quilting by hand takes patience. I can cross stitch but quilting by hand is hard for me. I don't know why. Guess I know I can quilt by machine. jeanna

I've been quilting for nearly a year now. I tend to go in spurts, however, meaning I don't quilt until I'm in the "mood", and that may take weeks or months.

    I piece by machine.

I quilt by both hand (usually in the beginning till I get impatient ) and machine.

My favorite kind of quilting is making scrappy quilts.

My machine is a Yamata, a brand nobody (not even the sew/vac repair guy) has ever heard of. But it sews like a dream. I have a Yamata serger, too.

I saw a "crazy quilt" at www.sew-whats-new.com that was put together by sewing pieces of odd sizes to muslin squares (then embellishing later). I have never quilted, but thought it might be a good beginner project. I don't have enough scraps yet, but am working on it.

    Great question.

    1. I've been quilting for 11 years and have lost count of how many quilts I've made.

    2. I piece by machine.

    3. I quilt single/double quilts by machine and queen size by hand. I find quilting the larger ones by hand does take time but is very relaxing and your not fighting with your machine all the time.

    4. My favorite type of quilt is scrappy.

    5. I have a computerized Husqvarna Viking.

I've been sewing since I was 16, my first job was in a fabric store LOL! Started quilting with my DMIL in 1987...try to quilt every day, usually piecing.
I piece by machine, life's too short!!
I have quilted by hand, but by and large, I quilt by machine...although I must say that it's my fave to make the quilt tops ... I have 4 quilts that need to be quilted, anyone want to help?!
My favorite is pieced blocks, scrappy quilts are also my favorites.
I have a Bernina, but I bought it after 20 years of a Kenmore (which still works great), used, for $300! The machine guy said that was a heck of a deal (about time!)!
