    Default Quilt question

Hi I  found a all white   feather comforter .It is marekd off in 61/2 by 6 1/2 squares. I want to make a sampler type quilt top . But sew the blocks right to the top of the comforter. One at a time. Then quilt in the designs. On the back I want to sew in a message. Is this doable?    Will it bunch badly?  Any help welcomed please.

It occurs to me that you could applique each block onto the comforter top. It would be a bit difficult to conceal your knots, but not impossible.

I have no idea if you can quilt feathers. It seems that they would bunch.

What about making a duvet cover? It's sort of like a huge pillowcase that slips over the plain comforter and looks pretty. Three sides are sewn together and the fourth usually buttons shut.
