    Smile Dd's wedding quilt

It's finally finished. The background looks a bit pinkish in this picture. Its not, its off white.

I did not buy any material for this quilt. I used what I had on hand.

Darlene, the heart is covering up a mistake. I wanted to put a red heart there, however the red just did not go with the blues. On the heart, I have both their names and the date they got married.

Michelle, here you go. These again were cover-ups. I did this quilt different when I came to quilting it. I quilted each block as I went. I did not like the way the it turned out when the blocks were joined together. I learned a lot doing it this way and will definitely do it this way again. Next time I will make larger borders around each block. I was given some material that had doves kissing, which worked out perfect for a wedding quilt. I appliqued the corner of each block with a diamond. You can also see here in this picture where I used my darning foot to do the quilting.

I really like the black borders...it really sets off the blue, and the doves kissing fabric are so symbolic for a wedding quilt

Very nice. It's a wonderful gift for your daughter to cherish.

Has she seen it yet? Or any parts as you put it together?

Sara, she picked the colors out, however she has not seen it yet. She knows its finished, so I'm waiting for her to come and pick it up.

btw - the pattern is called "card trick". When they first met, they played cards all the time.
