Talking You are never going to believe what I did

I've been quilting for years. I make mistakes - little ones like not having the blocks lined up, points might not match - no big deal I just live with them.

Many of you know I'm doing a BOM which is applique - reverse applique. NOT my think.

Okay first thing I do is sew the snow (pretty white material with little square pattern, white on white). It turns out perfect however I have to cut part of the blue (sky) off the back. I turn the block over and cut - you guessed it - the snow. Cut it all off, except 1/4 inch seam allowance. Well I think, I have white on white material - now instead of block pattern, my snow has white on white leaves!!!!!

Then I have to do the trunk of the tree. I only have a small piece of brown material that comes with the kit. I'm using fusible web and what do I do - you guessed it. I didn't reverse the material to do reversible applique so now I have the sticky fusing on the front of the material which of course doesn't come off. I have no brown material (never use brown). I have 1/2 inch strip from the piece that came in the kit. The tree is now standing on a very skinny trunk (must have gone on a diet).

I haven't even gotten to the snowman or his sled!!!!

LOL! Sounds like a lot of what I'd do. I bet it turns out nice. You have the knack.

Oh CJ that sounds so much like things I do. I'll bet you'll find a way to fix it all so it looks beautiful!

Aw, CJ. It will turn out great! I too do that type of thing when trying something new until I get the hang of it. It's that extra thinking, just before I do something new, that I forget about. I made an applique quilt for my Niece a few years ago and yep, fused that web to the wrong side a few times...finally I got it! You'll get it!
