    Default Chicken ribbon quilt

Thought someone might like to see this from the International Quilt Study Center in Lincoln Nebraska. It's made of ribbons won showing chickens at the fair.

I love pieces of everyday goings on made into quilts. What a way to preserve bits of our past. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, that's neat. What a great way to keep and show ribbons at the same time

You can sign up to get a quilt of the month e-mail from the Quilt Study Center. They have some really interesting quilts, but this one was very unusual.

That's neat! I've wanted to get to the museum to see the exhibition, but DH ......well, shall we say is NOT interested.
None of my friends are, either.

Is the Amish exhibition still at the Sheldon? I think there are plans to have some permanant gallery space in the new building that will be built for the Quilt Study Center. But they will still be rotating because they don't think it's a good idea for the quilts to be out too much.

There is a slide show with a volunteer who gives narration that is available for presentations to community groups. I've seen it a couple of time here in Omaha -- they came to one of the branch libraries.

I've looked at the degree program at the University of Nebraska a couple of times. But I'm not sure what one does with a Masters Degree in Quilt Studies.

Wow- that is a LOT of prize chickens.

That center is the place that has my GGGGMs friendship quilt. It sure traveled a long way from PA to get there!

What a neat quilt. There are sure a lot of ribbons in that one.
