    Question binding color choice

I made a trip around the world quilt for my mother last year, but I never quilted or bound it. I'm trying to decide what color to make the binding.

I'll try to get a picture of the quilt on here later, but the outside border is a colonial blue. Next to that (and toward the center of the quilt) is a gold color. Other colors in the quilt are navy, light tan, and white.

The backing will be the same colonial blue that I used for the outside border on the front.

If you were me, what color would you choose for the binding? I'm thinking more colonial blue, but I don't know if I have enough fabric for that, and I really despise that color anyway

I'm having a hard time picturing any other color for it though.

Having not seen the quilt yet, I would guess navy. That might change once you post a picture.

Actually you have seen it, but I posted the pictures in the gallery, and it's not working now.

You might remember it when you read this thread, but I will try to get a picture of it today anyway.

    Come see my Mom's wallhanging

I prefer navy as well, but I wasn't sure if it looked okay.

I can't quite remember the quilt Michelle. I'll check this thread later today.

What I'm doing is picturing your border right now and navy would go perfectly with the 2 colors you have. Having navy in your quilt also works.

I'm going to go with navy. I like to be able to see my binding so it doesn't look like the border is bigger due to the same color binding.

I will post a picture later. I need to dig it out first

Your right. I never use the same color binding as the last color in my border. So if I had blue then gold, I would never use the gold as a binding. I also like to have a darker binding so that it pulls all the quilt together, kwim.

Here is the picture. Sorry for the "cloudy" bottom. Not sure what is up with that. And it needs to be pressed too.

That's really pretty Michelle. I'd do the binding in navy also.
