    Default started the tube quilt!

    it is fairly easy, a great way to use up scraps!

    I made one several years ago in a log cabin pattern. They're very warm and not too hard to make. Here's a pic of mine,hope it shows up. Sorry the pic isn't any better.

    lol, wellllllll i think mine will go in the trash, i tore my finger up trying to get it sewn in between the rows, on to another!

    I'll try to explain how I did mine but I'm not very good at writing directions.

    The way I did mine was make a sandwich of 2 strips of fabric with batting between, baste raw edges. Lay another strip right side facing right side of strip just made and another strip right side facing right side on bottom with a piece of batting the width of strip, sew seam , press out. You'll now have the first tube or strip enclosed and the one you just joined with one raw edge, repeat.

    When finished I just binded the raw edges with binding.

    I hope I didn't confuse everyone even more.

    so... do i have it right? you basically are sewing together prefilled tubes of fabric?

    ok...Why not one long piece of batting, rather than smaller pieces? I see how this would save time...no quilting...way faster!

    Yes , it's tubes of fabric.

    I guess using the long piece of batting would be difficult to shift around while sewing since it's basically quilt as you go.
