i give up!
ok so i made these quilts for a friends grandkids, then i wrapped them without finishing them. when i unwrapped them to finish them i discovered that the one i made like a rag quilt, had several places where the fabric had torn away when i washed it, i tried to fix it but it looks terrible, one in the trash. when i unwrapped tanners, to close, i got to looking at it and not only had the fabric torn also, but in between 2 of the sandwiches, were huge clumps of kitty hair! both went in the trash! they will get store bought stuff instead.

That's frustrating. I'm know you are very disappointed but this is a learning experience for you. Your next one will be better. I guarantee it.

I know it's frustrating but don't give up! My first one went to my ds and he is continually bringing it to me to sew up a place that has come loose. I don't think my others will do that but you never know until it is washed. Are you washing them by hand in the tub and hanging to dry? I would never recommend machine washing unless you are using the gentle wash cycle but not the wringer cycle.
