I am totally sold on BATIKS
When I first started my course I wasn't sure if I was going to like working with them. However after working with them for a few months, I'm totally sold on them and will be doing a whole lot more quilts with batiks.
I was in the quilting store today and they had brought some new ones in. They were to die for.

CJ I thought you weren't going to be buying more fabric until you used up what you had?

Ummmm I didn't say anything about buying any. I just said how I was sold on them. They are wonderful to work with, have stunning colors and make beautiful quilts.

back in high school, we worked with batiks. i was wondering if this is the same thing. we would dye fabric, then apply a wax design, dye it again, then apply more wax, etc, etc. then in the end, we woul iron out all the wax...is this material the same thing??

It is similar Misty. The material comes from India (at least what I have). It almost looks like it is marbalized.

Batiks have such vibrant colors and colors you wouldn't expect in any one piece of material. Seeing has I love color, it's perfect material for me.
