Default I finished my first quilt!!

I finished my first quilt and gave it to my dad for his 70th birthday. I pieced it all and then machine quilted it and then finished the binding by hand. I have to say I'm hooked!!! It is so satisfying and I love being creative. As an accountant, I don't get much of a change to be creative, so this gives me a chance. I'm looking forward to starting the next one. I certainly have the fabric!! LOL I think I've attached a picture of my quilt.

It's great! I am sure your Dad's going to love it. Is the pattern called turning twenty? I just purchased a turning twenty pattern. Its made from 20 fat 1/4s. They colors are perfect for a man. You should be very proud of yourself

Thanks all, I just love quilting. I'm going to make christmas tree skirts and table runners for gifts this year! I bought a ton of Christmas fabric on sale after Christmas!!

The pattern for this quilt is Yellow Brick Road. I also have the Turning Twenty Pattern, but for this one, I used 12 fat quarters. This was a lap size quilt. I think the finished size was 5' x 7'.

Thanks everyone, he did love it. I think the hardest part was choosing the fabrics! Trying to find fabric in a quilt shop without flowers is tough!
