    Thumbs up Did you know?

I learn something new about quilting almost everyday.

I presently read Better Homes and Garden Quilting, pieces of the Past which tells about 175 years of quilting, shows quilts and gives details and patterns on how to make the quilts.

Having made a crazy quilt awhile back, I learnt something new about them today. Here is a quote from the book.

When the crazy quilted piece is completely assembled, layer it on backing fabric and bind the edges (few crazy quilts have batting between the layers). Tying the top and backing fabric together is optional.
I never knew that most crazy quilts don't have batting. This is a completely new revolation to my quilting. One that I love. And if I so choose, it doesn't even need to be tied!!!

I didn't know that either. Interesting.
