Question Do you find yourself using the same colors over and over again

I always seem to have greens and burgundies in my quilts and I'm stretching out to have more and more of a variety of colors. I love putting yellow in a quilt as a surprise color but I'm needing to experiment with more colors.

How about you, do you find the same colors in your quilts? Do you struggle with trying out new colors. What colors would that be?

So the next question would be, how do you break away from sticking with the same colors all the time?

Introduce small amounts of the other colors here and there.

You know I've done that, but it always seems I go to different shades of the colors I like.

I love color in a quilt and when I did my applique quilt, I used many colors, but although I'm proud of accomplishing the quilt, I don't particularly like the colors.

I need to learn to stretch in this because I would love to expand in my color combinations.

All I can say be bold and just put the colors in, when I bought my house 10 years ago, I was so sick of white walls. I painted my livingroom in a blueish GREY, my dh thought it would aweful and was afraid to paint it..... It turned out great !!! I like it because I can add so mant colors to the Grey, even spring colors...... Just be brave, try a new wall color...

I do the same thing CJ-same colors too LOL. The thing is that I'm pretty new at this, so when I make things I am making them for other people. They like different colors than I do, so I'm not always using the ones that I love over and over.

I do the same thing, my stash is full of blues, greens, burgandies and beiges. I have to really work to get away from those, they are my comfort zone colors. I really gravitate to the jewel tones. I want to work on adding a surprise color to my quilts, I just have to get more adventurous, lol .
