Question Do you ever buy quilts?

For decorating or just to have around the house, or do you make all of the ones you display? I hadn't given much thought to buying them, but I want to decorate with them, and I am far too slow to make them all LOL

I've never bought one yet although I'm keeping my eyes open for some antique ones. They cost so much though, I'm not sure I'll ever get one.

I just make mine and usually give them away. I have one I kept for myself from 11 years ago. All the rest have been given away.

I will buy old handmade quilts at flea markets and such. I won't buy new "machine-handquilted" quilts, though. I can make 'em for less, and they'll be better quality (usually, heh).

I LOVE quilts, and don't quilt. So if I saw one that I could afford, I would buy it.... since I don't currently own one at all.

Wish someone in my family could quilt... they could make me one as a gift.

I don't quilt but dh got one fr me a couple of years ago, a store called "Alco" they advertized hand stitched quits any size 19.99 they were out of them so substituted it for a $79.00 (King, so it hangs nice and long on my queen bed) . I love it !! It is a wedding ring pattern. I looked later at the $19.99 quilts when they got them in....They were junk !!! Glad he got the deal he did.... I aslo picked up 2 anitique ones at an aution for $7.00... I love those too.... One is a star and one looks like a block puzzle..... So much work and talent, I wish I could do them, but mine are never straight........

I have only bought one quilt and that was about 3 years ago. We were in a rental house at the time that had horribly stained carpets and I just couldn't stand the thought of ds being on the floor so I bought the quilt to put down for him to play on (it was inexpensive) - we still have it too!

I have 2 quilts that my grandmother made (no way would I have put those down on that floor!) and all my UFO quilt projects.
