Default Step away from the quilt!

Holy cow , I must be tired.
I am makeing my dd a quilt for her d-day and I think its time to quit for the day.
First I cut 10 squares the wrong size before I realized what I was doing, then I sewed one on in the wrong direction. Of course it was the one in the middle of the block so I have to rip it all apart. Then I get it going the right way but I sewed it with the seam faceing out! What the heck, I think its time to step away from the machine.

Also , when I sat down to type on the COMPUTER I found myself searching for the foot pedal. LOL

    " searching for the footpedal"

Been there, on all of the above. Some days just don't work out for quilting/sewing.

sounds like maybe you need a nap! I made a small little throw quilt for DS the other night (its a rag quilt) and I got the whole thing done - washed & dried (to rag it out) and *then* realized one of the blocks was upside and ya know what.....its STAYIN' that way!

I've had days like that. When it happens it is just best to leave the sewing for another time. For me it only gets worse the longer I try.

I sympathize, and think it is time for me to step away from the computer. My eyes are tired, and I read your title as "Step away from the GUILT" - another thing I need to do occasionally ;-)

~That's funny! I had a bad sewing day this week myself. I was working on a tote bag and got it a little too close to some fabric paint I'd been using earlier(my workspace is small and it was a moment). I was bummed but moved onto another project and kept making mistake after mistake. Cut my pattern too small, sewed the sides of the shirt front together instead of the front and back piece. Lots of seam ripping. I HATE days like that!~

I don't quilt, but have had this happen to me while doing other things. There comes the time when you have to put it down and come back to it later when you have rested and refreshed yourself. Especially when you think you need a footpedal to operate your computer LOL!! Sorry, but that cracked me up!!

Yesterday I sewed two log strips together to cut inti 6 1/2 x 12 inch strips to make a 12 inch 4 patch and I sewed one strip on BACKWARDS.

I was hurrying and it came back and bit me for being in a hurry.

Quilting is to be for fun right and NOT as a hurry up and do it job!
