    Default Beginner's Quilting Books/Websites

I'm thinking of expanding my horizons and learning how to quilt. Can anyone recommend a good beginner's quilting book/website?

    Thanks in advance

I discovered quilts and quilting back in the 1980's...
you are in luck that you can find many quilting books at garage sales and half price books.
I made a few, one of them being the best thing I ever made ( its beautiful)
    and
I made many new friends who were quilters in the process of discovering quilts, the history behind them, the quilt patterns and techniques.
If there is ever a craft show in your area, go just to see the quilts.

My eyes aren't that good anymore to make quilts but I still love them.
I have my one prize quilt out of the several I made that is just beautiful...
    and that makes me happy.

There's a stickied thread at the top of this forum with tons of sites listed.

As far as a beginning book, I highly recommend Quilter's Complete Guide by Fons & Porter as seen here:
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Quilters-Complete-Guide-Marianne-Fons/dp/0848724666/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_k2a_1_txt?pf_rd_p=304485601&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-2&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=1890621919&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=04GRY9VHV987MY8BWRN9"]Amazon.com: Quilter's Complete Guide: Marianne Fons, Liz Porter: Books[/ame]

If you are interested in buying that book, I would get the spiral bound version if possible---it makes it much easier to lay the book flat while referencing it.
