I challange you Nuisance26
to start that circle denim quilt. Thee Hee Thank you so much for telling me about it. I started one today, lets see who gets done first.
This one is doing to be for my dh's birthday gift. I'm going to make it entirely out of our clothes. The girls and I had a big bag I was going to take to goodwill but I just changed me mine. Don't you think it would be nice for him to snuggle up in a blanket made entirely from clothes that all the woman in his life wore?

Ah- we don't really have to race I was just messing with ya!
You should finish what you started first. Besides I'm not sure I have enough denim. Size 2T pants don't provide much. I am going to work in nine patches. That way I can just make the patches then tuck them away until I am ready to finish it. It will also help keep it nice and square, beware of the stretchy denim.Last edited by Dancing Lotus; 04-04-2008 at 03:14 PM.

~I just finished cutting out 76 more circles and my hands are hurting! I need to get some cushions on my scissors! I now have enough cut out to make a 35X35 inch section. I'm aiming for a twin sized coverlet. Still have a few pairs to cut up but I think this will be a waiting game for me too. I'll just to add to it as jeans wear out on.~

500 yikes! What size circles are you doing? I am using a CD. I figured I needed 300 and thought that sounded like a lot. Are you doing to put a border on yours? I am , less circles that way. I think I am going to put a very wide binding of either black or denim.
Are you going to cut all yours before you sew anything. I am sewing all my blocks of nine first and then I will put all my blocks of nine together. I can keep it cleaned up and put away better that way. I don't want dh to see it. I am not sure I will have much time to work on it this week with the kids home.

~I'm using a lid off of a canister of Carnation Instant Breakfast powder. My inner squares will be 3.5 inches. And I wasn't planning on a border but we''ll see how impatient I get to finish this thing!

~I chopped up the last 5 pairs of jeans in my stash this weekend. I'm now at 233/500. I guess I'll have to buy some jeans at yard sales to finish this thing. Luckily, I know a lady who sells all her clothing items for $.10 each.~
