Talking Went to the quilting shop today - oooh lala!!

For many of you, you won't know what I'm talking about here, but for us quilters, well it was pure joy. To fondle those fat quarters, drool over new material, delight in the Christmas material and then BUY, BUY, BUY - well there is nothing like it. Its a little bit of heaven on earth.

As I picked up some of the fat quarters I thought of Patchworkgirl, some of the material just reminded me of her. Then I seen some material with eagles, and I thought of my dear friend MJsLady. When I seen the kids material, I could only think of little Tyler and his mommy. Looking at the Christmas material I thought of captclearance and her Christmas trees.

Yup I had a great time at the quilting store. I came out with material in hand, dd chose some really cute material to make my Christmas gift with, although she won't tell me what she is making, she got her material for B1G1F - thats the best kind of deals.

Anyone else experience similar feelings when they are in the quilting store???

Oh my gosh yes, i went and bought some today for the train, i was so excited, though i don't know if the person receiving mine is going to feel the same way, (I forgot to tell you all that i have a shade color blind thing) so although i can tell bright colors apart when it comes to orangie reds, or yellowie greens they are not what i think that they are. SO I am afraid although i had a blast today, my person may not like what they get.

I don't quilt, but I do a lil sewing now and then.Anyways...we have a place called "Delains Fabrics" the ENTIRE store is all marked downs from larger BIG name chains. Some styles she buys herself but she has the best fabric at the best prices....I love going in there I'm like a kid in a candy store
Only bad thing.....She has to much to choose from! I want it ALL!!!

I am not a quiter but a crafter and I experience joy when I am able to get the fabric I admire...... I am flattered that you thought of me..........

And I'm flattered also! In the nearest city to me there is only 1 quilting shop, and I love to visit there- they have the greatest fabric! But what makes it special are the people who work there- they are so helpful in answering questions, and helping me pick out just what I need for a certain project, etc. We do have a JoAnn's also, and I was just there this past Sunday- spent several hours looking and finally picking out some fabric for a couple of projects. It is so crowded though- and impossible to find someone to help. I like the quilting shop much better!
