    Default Christmas/Holiday Barter Thread

So, times are tight...the sky may not be falling, but times are tight.

Personally, I know we are cutting way back on Christmas this year. I'm also going to try to be creative and am not above bartering for gently used items for the kids.

I'm guessing that I'm not the only one in this boat and I thought perhaps we could start a Christmas/Holiday Barter thread. In this thread, we could post things that we are looking for and could also post things that we have to offer. It generally takes the For Sale and Trade forum and narrows it down to specific things we are looking for right now for the holiday season.

If someone posts that they are looking for something that you have, you can send them a pm and let them know what you'd like in exchange. Could be money, but it could also be things that you are looking for. If people post items they have that you want, you pm them and say "Hey...I'd love that...here's what I have to offer you, or what do you want?"

Just a thought. It may be a stinky idea and may tank, but it's worth a try. Something new, at least.

    I'll go first:

So, someone gave us a used GameBoy Advanced SP and we are looking for games for it. I realize it's an older type game thing, so not many people might have games, but it's worth a try.

I'm also looking for Magic Tree House books or Wayside School Books. I'll need to check dd's bookshelves and list specific titles later when she's busy.

I have lots of office supply items, packs of stickers (smelly stickers, seasonal stickers, etc.), and lots of other things that I can trade. I'd also be willing to pay for the items (I do have paypal) if the price is right.

I think this is a great idea.

I will have to see what I have that can be traded/bartered.

I know that I can sew some things. I can do:
    hand towels with fabric toppers
purses/clutches/totes, in any fabric that you wanted
well, i can sew just about anything, you just need to let me know what you want. lol

Great idea, Amy. I am pretty sure I have at least a couple of the MT books and one or two Wayside. Can you tell me what numbers you have? Are you ISO any other books for the kids? I've been meaning to pare down the girls' bookcase, so this is good timing for me

Ah...Michelle...my book connection! I can't even imagine how many of Lauren and Kathryn's books we have in our house already!

Julia has the following MT books:
    20 Dingoes at Dinnertime
    19 Tigers at Twilight
    1 Dinosaurs Before Dark
    2 The Kinght at Dawn
    3 Mummies in the Morning
    4 Pirates Past Noon
37 Dragon of the Red Dawn (Merlin series)
36 Blizzard of the Blue Moon (Merlin series)

I think we have all of the A-Z Mysteries and most of the Bailey School Kids books as well. Basically, she loves mysteries. We've also got all the Cam Jansens now, as well, but if you have anything you think she might like, let me know.

As for the boys, I'm all set with truck books out the wazoo. Although, Patrick has recently fallen in love with Max and Ruby, so I'm on the lookout for Max and Ruby stuff, but I think they're relatively new and your girls probably don't have any of that.

    So, let me know!

Amy--what kind of GameBoy advanced games are you looking for? I have quite a few of the mario, zelda, etc games. I don't have the boxes or booklets anymore, just the cartridge, so I'm not sure how you would feel about giving them as a gift. Let me know if you are interested and I'll go through my stash.
