Use a link to your site as a signature in all of your e-mails. Issue a press release to your local paper. Put a link to your web site on your personal facebook page (if it's allowed).
Re-check your site for spelling errors. As a shopper I generally let 1 or 2 spelling errors go...however, if there are more then chances are I won't deal with the site...unless I know someone personally who has.
Offer easy ways to pay...bill me later and paypal are both reputable pay sites.
Offer promo codes for discounts or reduced/free shipping.
Good luck with your endeavor

have you checked around to see what prices same things are selling fr - IE the angel on a bridge water globe - i see for similar prices or prices much less than what your site offers.
you need to expand your policy section
as a buyer it just says i have to return within 14 days .
if an item is broken who pays return shipping - the buyer really shouldnt.
how soon after an item is purchased will it be shipped how will it ship if just browsing i have no idea what the shipping rate are- i would note if you use insurance on packages ( i would if breakable)
are the items you are selling the type they buy from you and you make an order thru another company and they mail it or they items you actually have in your possession .
even if you get people to your site people will be leery to buy from a small unknown site and even more so if they policies shipping time etc are not made known up front .
i know on ebay if several people have the same item- i look at their feedback- and their shipping policies costs etc before i will even bid buy or put in my basket .*~Debbi~*

have you looked on facebook for business call outs or shout outs in your area? I belong to a couple networking type ones on facebook for my area. It adds people to your facebook page, but often these people will go and look at my business as well.

Hi Melinda - it looks like a drop ship type of deal, am I right? You take the orders and someone else ships the merchandise. I checked one item and found it sold in a lot of places around the web.
This makes me think of a "Make big money on the internet" type of seminar I went to once. "if you don't know what to sell online we will provide you with items to sell". They were also supposed to tell you how YOUR items would be at the top of the search results when someone was looking for the item.
I am afraid the only people who are making money on this are the ones with the merchandise and selling the seminars and website hosting. I hope you did not pay a lot of money to set this up.

Melinda, It looks like a dropship site to me too. The trouble with this is that Google does not like sites that have cookie cutter listings. Where all the titles and descriptions are the same. They are very strict now on the UPC code for items too. I know from past experience with dropshipping you can make money with it, but not from these types of products.
If you could find a local company that has a product to sell and make a deal with them, on you offering it for sale on your site, and they do the shipping. That would be a win win situation for both. And you could make some money doing that. Try for a product that sells for at least $100. so you can make a better profit.
A better idea too, would be to have your store name with its own url. Like mountaingiftshome.com or something on that order.

When I had my eBay shop, I went to Office Max and had some business cards printed up with my website address listed on them. Then I tacked up cards at all the local stores that have bulletin boards, and I replenished those cards weekly. Business cards are SUPER CHEAP if you design them yourself and just have them printed at an office supply store. I think I got about 200 for about $10.
