Default 3-07-09 What are your frugal plans for today?

It's going to be a beautiful day here! Just picked up DD and DS from the church lock-in. We already had breakfast. DS is working for the local Dr. today (he has a small farm/animals), so I have to take him to work in a bit. He's going to be tired after being up all night then working today, but he's 12 so he can handle it, lol.

    Today I plan to:
    -go visit my brother
-do some cleaning/laundry (does this ever end?)
-cook supper (thinking chicken in the crockpot)
-take DD to Saturday Night Live (contemporary worship service)
    -relax and read

    Have a great Saturday everyone!

    DD age 16
    DS age 14

I tend to not plan out my weekends! Since everyone is home, I am always at the mercy of DH and the kids and their plans, so mine usually get squashed!

But here are my "plans" for the day:
    1. Get to the gym (this one is a must and will get done)
    2. Help the boys get their room cleaned
    3. Organize some of my fabric
    4. Get some chicken boiled for dinners

And other than that, not much else. Just hanging around with the family!

It is windy, warm and overcast this morning. The house is still quiet, kids are asleep. After they go home, I will pick up a bit and then wait for DH to get home. We are going out to a few garage sales, thrift stores and flea markets. We are having lupper out, so easy supper tonight. Then relaxing and a movie. Hope you have a super Saturday!

Pick up our new-to-us van. We purchased a 1985 van yesterday so we could have a vehicle with no payment. The previous owners customized it with built in dvd player, cd player and you can camp in it as the back turns into a bed. It has air and is automatic which are the only two things I really need. I'll not be driving it across the country or anything, but it will get us to the store and church, etc.

i cleaned my refrigerator coils, yuck what schmutz! electricity bill should be lower from my efforts. had to mop the floor after. gross.
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

I'm in for a quiet weekend! My plans for today:
    1. Laundry
    2. Organize coupons.....Heard a rumor that one of our stores is doubling up to $1 coupons. Will call to confirm.
    3. Clean out my purse and planner. This is a weekly task.
    4. Finish my book.

I may get the Easter decorations out.

I have to admit that I'm jealous of the PP who is going to garage sales. It's about 35 degrees and rainy here. Enjoy your trip, can't wait for our season to start.
