I'm sick...
The downside is, I don't have crackers or applesauce.
The upside is, I can't leave the house to spend any money.
I am going to spend the rest of the day on the running between the two rooms.

Will be picking up DD from the airport for spring break - so shall be out and about all day
Today is a planned spending day -
check Sears end of season clothing sale
Verizon for battery for DD's cell phone
Before we leave for the airport will
straighten up the LR and Kitchen
do some paper work
Have a good day. For those who are not feeling well, please take care. Whatever is going around here is really hitting people hard and not letting go.Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

So far today, I've:
* cooked breakfast/cleaned up
* washed 2 loads of laundry and hung outside
* made the beds and cleaned the litter boxes/fed all the animals
Still left to do:
* sweep and do a light dusting
* vacuum
* evening animal chores
* then we're going out to dinner with some of DH's friends from work. Not frugal, but we're going to a pretty low cost place, and this will be our only time going out to eat this month.

We all slept in this morning. It was sooo nice. Then it was a lazy morning. I knit while the boys (dh included) played the Wii. Then we all went to the library and took the van through the car wash.
The only plans I have today are to work on the laundry and knit on dd's punk blanket.

I crocheted and read before I came into work. And that was one of those days - when I arrived I found my morning student workers had run into some problems:
The could not clock in because security unlocks the library for them (they don't have keys), and it took them 15 minutes to get here.
The computer with the main scanner apparently has had the password changed and no one has told us what it is, so it cannot not be logged on. This one will be seriously missed this weekend.
They were unable to get the circulation computer up, so all the transactions had to be written down until I came in and could use my passwords.
When one of them started entering these, a study room key that was perfectly sensible yesterday decided this morning that it was going to be an non-circulating item.
A faculty member tried to find a journal that the catalog said we had and it wasn't there. I looked at the catalog, read farther and it said we both had it and didn't have it. Show him how to do interlibrary loan and he's annoyed he can't have it today - "This slows down research." I'm sorry. We have over 1500 journals. We can't have everything. E-mail to collections manager about the catalog listing. E-mail to two ill librarians about the catalog problem, because they will bounce his request right back to him with the note that the catalog says we have it, annoying him further.
And so it went.
I've been here and hour and a half and already I want to go home! It's not a happy tech day. But it will doubtless get better.
End of grinch. It's really a great job. There are just some days it feels like we're sinking in a computerized swamp.Last edited by dcompton; 03-21-2009 at 04:36 PM.

Hi! I haven't posted much on this forum. This is fun.
Woke up, cleaned out my cupboards and spice bin, emptied the dishwasher, picked up clutter
Put ingredients for chili in the slow cooker and turned it on
Showered and changed
Went to a $2.00 movie with my mom and dad
Had lunch at a diner next door
(Mom and dad ended up treating me, so it was free)
Came home, organized my attic with my mom
Organized some of my jewelry into egg cartons (I had it in a jewelry box but it was getting tangled)
Took a nap
Woke up, have heartburn from unhealthy diner meal, so I haven't had any chili yet
Hopefully I will get to clean some more today. I work full time so weekends are the only large blocks of time I have for heavy cleaning.

It started out as a great day then I got a phone call. My 15 year-old nephew took a bad hit at lacrosse practice and they took him to University of Maryland Shock Trauma. Thank goodness he is fine. He has what they call a "stinger" or temporary paralysis. They are giving him a steriod for spinal injuries that is administered for 23 hours. He will be released tomorrow late afternoon. So my day got scary, then better.

I worked 12 hours again today but I did manage to fold a load of laundry and get another load in the washer before I left for work.
