Saving Saturday 1/23
Today I plan to clean house, then go look for some darker khakis and a dress shirt for DH. Chores include:
-- laundry
-- clean out refrigerator
-- vacuum
-- make up bed, straighten bedroom
I also want to at least paint the shelf in our master BR closet and begin cutting the paint in along the edges. Today's dinner will be crock pot taco soup.

Okay! Today's plan include:
-going to the atm to deposit $1600 in medical buy down checks from insurance provider
-going to different bank to drop off check to pay-off Liberty! (2 years early I might add!)
-going grocery shopping.
And the best part of all this--a friend of mine has demanded that she be allowed to keep the kids overnight because she thinks I need a break. It'll be Maggie's first night away from me, ever, and the first time Wesley has spent the night with someone other than family.McD

Today I am working on cleaning the house. I really need to focus on organizing and getting projects done that are either in progress or in my head and I would like to get done.
I found a great book at a book store with organizational steps. I have referred to my home like a shoemakers families shoes, they are the last to get done. I clean, organize and decorate my customers homes all day. When it comes to doing my house, I easily get distracted or am so tired of dealing with "stuff" that I don't get my goals accomplished. Time for that to change. I'm going to tackle one room per week, while I try to progress with this book, and my goal is to stay focused.
Todays goals:
Deal with paperwork in the kitchen
Set up a specific financial area in my office
Set up files that will help me control the incoming paperwork
Modify the chore chart that I have in my daily planner
Work on my budget
Spend 15 minutes cleaning in each room of the house

It's a 'spending Saturday' for me.
I need to go to the atm and then off to the grocery store.
When I am back to the cave, I am going to focus on the little things I keep putting off. -- I'm having a 'bad body day' and I know I can't handle doing big things today, but I should be able to do small projects, that way, if I get too tired to do more, I haven't left yet another thing unfinished.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

So far I've managed to swap dyers with the help of my bro and dad (may have thrown out my back...its still deciding and negotiating with the advil) and take my dad to the hardware store to buy gas fittings etc for the new dryer.
Laundry folded and put away, lv rm picked up, garbage taken out.
Going out to family lunch soon - mmmmm...Asian buffet, hello sashimi!
Then I will either shop with my dad if needs anything and then come home to either rest/ice my back or some puttering around the house - hopefully more purging.

Today I have fixed all meals at home and the frugal part is using all leftovers to fix our lunch and some for supper. Trying to use up things before they go bad. Rinsed out the dish detergent bottle to make suds one last time. Took a rented movie back and picked up a few things at the store.

Didn't do much today. Some cleaning, crafting, watching tv and lots of munching. Tomorrow I will kick it up a notch to get ready for the week.

Busy day around here.
Taught 3 piano lessons this morning, then had full day play rehearsal.
Came home and the monkeys played and I read a little, and I made a yummy dinner for the family and my father-in-law and then we all just chilled.

Today I:
sold two small items on Craig's list for $10 and put that in EF
I made myself eat at home, I was really desperately wanting to go out.
I got really bored at one point so I made some brownies from scratch.
I went through some papers in my desk and got rid of a lot. I discovered that the "dumping" of papers began during a difficult time I had this summer with my daughters. I then discovered that significant spending had occurred at that time as well. It was good soul-learning time but got me down so I stopped sorting papers.
I spent time with my pets.LDR

Challenges for 2012:
2012 Grocery Budget Reduction Challenge- $100 a month. (down from $150) Hm, might be too low.
Electric Usage Challenge (doing well, under $70 most months)
Yah, I suck at this money stuff, I know. That's why I'm here.
