Default Saving Saturday September 11, 2010

The first thing I'm doing today is spending time remembering and praying for all those affected by 9/11......and then remembering all of the blessings that I have in my life.

The rest of my day is centered around soccer (as will the next 10 Saturdays!!). Since my team plays on Wednesdays I spend Saturdays visiting all the fields - see if anyone needs questions answered or support given. Love seeing all the players and their families out to celebrate the sport and the players!!

What does your Saturday look like?

I'm so glad the crazy nutter backed away from his book burning!

Doesn't seem like it was nine years ago!

I have a feeling the day will go crappy for me tomorrow for a few reasons not worth mentioning... Dh is off this weekend and we need to tackle painting the living room. After that, I'm hanging up the paint brushes for awhile. lol We will see.

Although the crazy nut head has his rights to do this in the US, I'm glad the FBI stepped in and told him how much damage it could possibly cause to the troops, riots, and piss off many we don't want pissed off. Plus, it's just plain bigotry and he wanted media attention and got just that.... *sigh* He had a thousand member church in Germany and pissed them off too. lol

Oh, I feel a mod coming so what does your day look like, Polly?

Hi ladies. I'm feeling a cold coming on so I'm just winging it today. No plans, whatever I get done will have to suffice. I'm taking Dayquil/Nyquil and hoping to ward off the nasty bugs. Have a great day all.

Today's been one heck of a day and it's about to get worse!

    It's DS7's birthday.

He's invited about ten of his friends over for some cake and ice cream, plus my inlaws are showing up at 3pm (which gives me another two hours to clean). The party is at 5. I wish I was still in bed.

We're fixing the basement up so that the kids have a place to go and play. We ran into some water damage issues that sort of cut into our renovation time yesterday, so we're taking care of that today. DH is replacing the drain hose on the washer that was the problem, so I'll have laundry cranking out for a while before the party.

I'm heating up leftovers for lunch, then showering and heading off to the store. I need a cake, some ice cream and some snacks for the kids to munch on. I figured a shrimp ring (or two), some cheese, some carrot sticks and celery sticks, etc would be good. We'll be having pizza for dinner and presents afterwards.

We finished painting the hallway and living room at 12:30 this morning, so we're still recovering from that as well. The entire first level needs a cleaning, so we'll also be cleaning up the kitchen and vacuuming the entire first floor. Once that's done, we'll be hanging the curtains back up and rearranging the furniture a bit in here to accomodate all of the kids coming to the house.

It's not so frugal around here.

Girl I need a nap after reading all you have to do today and being up till 12;30 painting to boot!

I hope that the party goes well and then you will be able to relax. How are things going with dh these days? Things any better?

For me not much today. I went this morning to a few garage sales that were duds. Things marked too high and really nothing that I just had to have. I am going to watch a 911 documentary in a little bit.

Wow, MomToTwoBoys. I'm not nearly that energetic, just reading what you've done and are doing is exhausting.

Palooka, not doing too much today. Got a bit of the yard sale to be thrown away from the front porch. Came across a Humungus spider that swears the stuff belongs to him. He won the turf war.

Been working on my room, affectionately dubbed the tree house. Just can't believe how much stuff I had stored there. How much of other peoples stuff I allowed to be stored in there. Feel like I'm digging a well with a teaspoon. Threw away 1 bagful, packed up another bag for my Sister, started a basket filled with my craft stuff, started another filled with clothing that is too small (just one size down, so I'm storing them) My coffee table is covered, my dining room table is covered, the tree house looks like a bomb went off in there. A teaspoon at a time I tell ya!

Today, I'll cook supper and do wash and keep working on the tree house.

Love the idea of your tree house Polly - and your attacking everything with teaspoon in hand!!

Change in plans for me - went to the DR for problems with my foot - giving way last night and today, pain, etc....needless to say I am not a happy camper. I'm willing to work on one area of physical challenges, don't e ven want to count how many there are now. Anyway - I'm off my feet for the rest of the weekend - will spend some time at the pool so as not to neglect my exercising - can relax there just as well.

Play on (soccer saying) - applies to life as well!!

I watched a small portion of the Sept 11 memorial.

Then off to get my hair trimmed. After that I met up with my knitting group which is always fun.

Came home ate dinner and hoped on FV. Mind you my place is a wreck. I am in the middle of switching out my clothes so half is still lying around the bedroom from last night. Plus I need to clean since I let it go for 2 weeks since I was sick.

Two other good things happened. I got a message on my answering machine from a friend I have know since we were 4 or 5. The other thing is that I received a partial scholarship.
