    Default Sublime Saturday!

Wow--we had a great day and it didn't cost us a penny!

Today was Scouting For Food. It's an annual even that the Boy Scouts do to gather food for the local food bank. We spent 3 1/2 hours doing that this morning. Then we came home and had lunch and rested a bit.

At 5 p.m., DH and I went to a "food raiser" (instead of fund raiser)for the same food bank. We got to tour four vintage homes here in town for the "price" of five cans of food. We had a blast and were able to walk to it all. I found out that one of the coolest houses in town (one I have droooooled over for years!) belongs to a friend of mine! She collects quilts and I want her to come and look at some of mine, but I will have to clean from top to bottom before I let her come over--her house was operating room clean!

Don't you just love scouting for food, It's almost like trick or treating. He-he I'm a mean mom and drive along the kids while they walk house to house...This assures me of some personal time because they are usually wiped out after
I LOVE historic homes...*dreams of one day. Brittany's girlscout troop use to meet in a historic home and I just drooled everytime I went over there. They had parlors in those times I think that is so neat. The one she use to meet at was amazing, a parlor on one side, living area on the other and the Kitchen... , the staircase.... I dunno but I could of swore it had the orginal wallpaper still.
Glad you enjoyed your day, isn't it great when simple things bring us so much joy.
