    Question Saturday Before Christmas

Hey Y'all! Haven't seen one of these threads in a while and was just wondering if everyone is prepared for Christmas or is doing their Christmas thing this weekend???

Last night, I had a gf over who worked on her cross stitch gift while I wrapped. We had mini cheesecakes and teas and chatted as we did this - QT plus getting things done. I thought it was nice since we don't see each other as often as we'd like plus we did our gift exchange. I wrapped a crapload of gifts last night....this year I decided to use up my wrapping paper and tried not to use gift bags. Thats ALOT of wrapping let me tell you. We started at 7.30pm and went until midnight! I kept going after she left until 1am. MAN was my butt ever sore from sitting on the floor wrapping LOL

This am, I awoke to start laundry and bake cookies and pack up my cookie gift sets for everyone. I co-ordinated with my sister on what to bring for the big dinner on Tuesday and caught up on family gossip.*teehee*

Now I just have to shower and relax and await the arrival of my other sister with her daughter and her daughters sons - my great nephews?? I have no idea what they're called *shrugs*

So all in all - I AM DONE for Christmas...all is left to do is ENJOY Anything else pops up for 'Christmas' Im going to do this >>>> I will start planning next years Christmas mentally based upon this years...not to bad just needed an earlier start and more dedication.

What are y'all doing this fine Saturday before Christmas?

I'm trying to get motivated to wrap gifts and bake cookies. I'v just learned that we are in for some high winds starting later today and into tomorrow. I want to make sure most of my cookies are baked today, just in case we lose power tomorrow.

I have to wash a few loads of laundry and I am hoping the fiance will help with the laundry while I bake the cookies and wrap presents.

I finished all the baking last night - stuffed the cookie tins full and tied with a ribbon

Everything is wrapped - I did that about 2 weeks ago while the kids were at school

Today - I'm on the hunt for things the boys can do to earn $$ so they can go shopping for each other --- ahhh, this should be fun

I've been finished for weeks now... I used gift bags that I got last year in gifts and well the ones I put the kids gifts in last year as well.

I didnt do any baking but my sons ex-gf's mother, baked us bunches of cookies and made turkey barbeque (sp?) some awesome dip made with cabbage, carrots, ground beef and something else but it's delicious.

I am glad Christmas is almost here but can't wait for it to pass by already. I dwell all year for Christmas only to be let down tremendously, this year just seems like the worst one ever EXCEPT for the fact that ALL "MY" kids are home

I woke up early by mistake and couldn't go back to sleep so I paid bills, and figured out our budget for the next 10 days since DH blew $100 and I blew about the $75 on more Xmas gifts. Then, after everyone was awake, I made bread and soup for lunch (very frugal!) and we all got busy cleaning. DD30 and her DH and DGD 2.5 are coming on Sunday. DSIL is allergic to cats so we vacuumed and washed.

Then at 3 pm I showered (yuck! went all day without one) and relaxed. Tonight we are watching a Christmas Story. Should be fun. Nice to know others bake at the last minute!

I'm getting a few loose ends done this weekend. I'm giving presents to the women in the family in cloth drawstring bags, so I have to get those sewn up tomorrow.

    *shame on me*
    I haven't sent out my cards yet...bad, I know.

On Saturday I dragged the kids out of bed and we went across the border to go shopping. We finished every last bit of our Christmas shopping. When we brought it in we sorted the gifts out on the dining room table by person and we will wrap them today (Sunday).

Today we are cleaning the house to get it ready for guests. I have to go to the grocery store (yuck), print off some photos at Walmart (double yuck), and we are going to spend the afternoon doing some last minute baking.

Tonight we are going to Niagara on the Lake for the candlelight walk, which I have heard is simply beautiful.

It used to be beautiful. I haven't been in a long time, but am originally from NF, NY and used to love to go to Niagara on the Lake at Christmas time.

I hope it is nice for you!
