Question How long have you been scrapbooking?

I've been collecting supplies and doing a page every so often (usually when I make the time!) for about 2 yrs now. I would love to have more time to work on it, but it just seems like there's never enough time in the day.

So...how long have you been scrapbooking, and how many hours a week do you spend doing it?

I have been scrapbooking for almost 4 years now I think even though it seems like forever. And have 5-6 on going books now. I don't have a room or a area deacaded to scraping there fore I on;y get the chance to work on my books once in awhile but when I do I can squeak out at least 30 pages at a time cause of the way I do my layouts. But it takes me a few hours to still do that many pages.

    Paulan-welcome to the boards

I am wondering how you are able to do so many pages in just a few hours. Is it the type of scrapbooking you do? I would love to get a bunch done at once like that so I can get caught up and then spend more time on new picture layouts.

Hello and thank you for the welcome. I do what I call a power scrap session. I lug all of my stuff downstairs and get comfy and then I pick a subject or holiday I already have my pics organized and then I just scrap that theme until I either run out of paper or pic which ever is first and then on to the next theme. But the secret is to just get the basic layout ready you know crop the pic if you are going to along with the die cuts. And then just go to the next until the pile is so high and I go and glue the pics and whatnots in place and when I done gluing the last one the first one glued is then ready for the journaling and stickers and other little touches and then it is put aside to finish what I call curing until the pile is done and then I do more basics. I think the most I done this way was like 54 pages. I do the 8 x 11 loose page with a basic binder for the album. this way if I am out of order I can always rearrange the pages to the right order or right album if I jump subjects from holiday to person. Which I do sometimes. Hope this Helps

I have been scrapbooking for just a little over 2 years. I just squeeze in working on pages whenever I can - maybe a total of an hour and a half or two hours a week (that's why I'm so far behind! ). I have a craft table set up in our extra bedroom so I just leave all my stuff there and can work on it at any time.

I created my first "official" scrapbook page in 1997 after coming across a Creating Keepsakes magazine in a waiting room. However, I've always loved to collect stickers, pretty paper, markers and put them with my photos in those dreaded magnetic albums. (YES, I've since safely removed the photos, but alas, the little paper pieces, stickers and news clippings were not to be saved.

when the kids were small, I just had a rubbermaid tote with a lid that I kept my stuff in. I managed an average of 10-15 pages a year. Now, I have a room of my own!! We live in a 4 bedroom house with only one child left at home. So, I was selfish and took over one of the downstairs bedrooms for my hobby.

Since then, I've created a few theme albums, and have many albums in progress!

I scrap when i have a chane. The last album i made was for my brother, of my mother. It's hard to get in the groove, when those pics fill up my mind.

Been scrappin' for over 15 years. I have many completed books of my own and have made many for others - for gifts and for pay.

I try to do at least one page a day on average. I love pictures, have literally thousands already developed. Plus I recently found 17 more rolls of film. One of my digital camera discs has 599 pic and the other disc has around 300 all waiting to be printed.

Even at one page a day, I will not have everything in a book for at least a couple of more years - and that is only if I do not take any more photos.

I've been scrapping for years... I started back in high school, before it was trendy, when I made my own supplies from construction paper and whatever else I had handy.

Time spent varies greatly. Partially because I go in spells... sometimes I don't scrap for months (do more stamping/card making) and then other times I scrap daily for a while. This week I've probably spent an hour total on scrapping.

I've been scrapping for about 4 years. I don't have a scrap space in my house (yet) so I have to go away to get anything done. About twice a year I get together with two of my cousins who also scrap and we go somewhere for a weekend and spend the whole time laughing and scrapping. Its a blast. I usually get about 25 - 30 pages done a year this way (yes, I will be behind for the rest of my life. but I'll always have something to scrap!!)

I've been scrapbooking for a few years. I usually do more stamping and card making but enjoy scrapbooking as well. I don't have a room dedicated to crafting. Usually my scrapbooking stuff is all over my kitchen table and in big plastic containers. When I want to scrapbook I usually lug it all into the living room in front of the tv and have my living room floor covered. I don't get a whole lot done in one night. Maybe 10 cards or 1-2 pages of a scrapbook depending on how elaborate the page is.

I started scrapping in 1998. This year I did 245 pages, and didn't make a dent in my stash. In the past, I have shopped much more than I scrapped...but, no more! My supplies have taken over...my goal is 350 pages this year!
