Question Melissa - Where do you keep your stamps?

I know it's a strange question but I read somewhere how they should all be kept flat and rubber side up etc.

I have so many stamps now that they are all slung in a box!

They are not cheap and I'm afraid they will get damaged like that but I just can't think of any way that I CAN keep them ALL flat!

    How do you keep yours?

I keep most of mine in plastic bins or containers wood side down, rubber side up. some of my more decorative stamps I keep in a (i know this is wrong and sounds silly) in a shadow box on the wall. One with all kinds of little "cubbies" to put stamps in.

I got the shadow box at a garage sale when I only had a few stamps. Now I keep in one box some really decorative ones, or ones that the kids can play with in another one. But the ones i expect to use for a long time I keep in plastic bins and rubber side up.

I suggest the plastic bins because it keeps the rubber from drying out. Several companies that sell stamp sets sell them in plastic boxes for just this reason. Just like bicycle tires and such can dry rot, so can the rubber of stamps. An added bonus of having stamps in plastic containers is that you can organise containers by theme...ie, nature, childrens, animals, flowers, holidays, etc

    Hope this helps
