    Smile Story & Scrapbook page - My frugal Dad

    I mentioned these pictures to you ages ago and now here they finally are - I scrapbooked them.

    I know all parents tell their kids stories of how poor they were in the 'good old days' But my parents REALLY were.

    My Dad had holes in his shoes and couldn't afford new ones when we were kids so he soled them himself with all that he had......

    TYRES!

    Only they weren't even car tyres they came from a TRUCK LOL.

    So his shoes gained about an inch (or more) in height LOL.

    But he always proudly told the story of how those soles long outlived the SHOES

    How I miss that man
