What's rope paper called?
I picked up some tightly rolled paper at a yard sale. It's used to make bows , when rolled out, I think. I've seen it used with dried flowers for wall hangings. I don't know what it's called, and would like to make it into something. Do you know of any sites?

I don't know. When the paper rope is pulled apart, it is very wide. It's about 4 or 6 inches wide, and is used for stiff bows and swags.

I looked at raffia and it's more shreaded natural fiber. This is more like paper and it's just rolled up tight, and then pulled apart to make bows.

I think it's just different forms of the same thing--what carolyn showed you is what I was thinking of--but I could have just thought it was called something different.

When I was a florist, we just called it paper ribbon. To unroll it easily soak the length you want it waster and unroll. When it is unrolled just lay it out to dry. It is sturdy and doesn't fall apart. You can also put the end in a drill with out a bit in it. Put the drill on reverse and unroll it that way too. I think the second way is harder on it though.

Raffia is a natural material and paper twist is man made.
Raffia is sold in hanks usually like this..

Paper twist is sold like this...

There is also raffia that comes in a ribbon. lol It's kind of a cross between the two.
