Most new moms I know, if they are anything like I was, want to do everything "by the book." And this includes having a traditional baby album that covers all the bases for life with a new baby.

Enter the calendar album. This 9 x 9 scrapbook includes:

A title page

A dedication page (optional)

A monthly calendar spread with space for recording important days/happenings/events, along with room for up to four photos.

A second spread with space for journaling the new mother experience, or simply recording random things about baby, along with room for up to four photos.

In short, for each month of baby's first year, you create four pages. That's it! Simply choose a color scheme, coordinated patterned papers and products, and begin making the blank pages. If you know the sex of the baby ahead of time, you can choose pink or blues. Or, simply go with a neutral palette that will work for either sex.

And what about the scads of leftover photos? Two words: photo albums! Just choose your favorites for this scrapbook.
