    Default My newest project

FIL dropped off 4 big boxes of dh's mothers photos, postcards, cards etc. These are all of her memories from junior high until the day she died! I've started going through the boxes-every report card she ever had, including all of her kids are in there-and alot of her books are just falling apart. I have dismantled her books, cutting out pieces of her notes and noting dates and such on the backs of photos. I sent photos I couldn't id to her mother and sister to id for me. I have bought 4 albums, one for each of the boys and plan to complete them for each for christmas---now I'm stuck...I want to keep it simple, but I want to capture the eras of the photos, they cover the 50's-mid 80's. I plan on doing print outs on the computer to name people, places and dates, but I'm looking to do more. I want to make this not reflect me and my style, but I never met his mom so it's hard, NEED HELP!! Thanks ladies.

If you want to share some of the photos or writings with others, but do not want to do a whole book or if they do not have scrap books of their own.... Make a page suitable for framing or make a scrap card for them... These would make nice Christmas gifts........

Do you have a local scrapbook store? If so check if they have an heirloom section. Let me say I don't think you could mess this up it is such a wonderful gift idea. If you don't mind I think I may do it myself for my husbands family. He has 2 brothers and a sister and they lost their mother and father last year.

talk to the family, they knew her and that way you can get a better understanding on who she was and if you just start asking general questions they will not know what your up to so it will not ruin the surprise. Either way they are all going to love what ever you do. those are going to be so special what a great gift.
