Rubber stamp advice/suggestions
I would like to make my own Christmas cards this year. I got some "start up" supplies, but where can I get the folded notecards/envelopes cheap? They have them on sale at Michaels-20 ct for $4.99. Does Staples carry this stuff??
Also any advice on inks, markers would be appreciated. (What to use, how to use, what kind works best, etc.)
Thanks! I know you ladies will come through for me!

You can usually get them cheaper at Michaels but the Staples near me does carry them... you can make your own by coping teh ouside of an envelope and cutting some out and the same with cards..
This year I am making my own too.. I have cut out the cards with a templet, on the fronf of the card will be a picture of the kids inside I have stamped and embossed a saying "we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" and will sign our names to the bottom..
as to what should you use to stamp all depneds on what you are stamping, like if you want different colors than markers are the best way to go, if it is a solid color than a stamp pad is best..they do make multi colored stamp pads so if like you were stamping a christmas saying and wanting different colors BUT not particular to what color went where a multi colored pad would work well..
or if it is a degisn you are stamping then it has to be colored in a black pad and colored pencils work well...
You could also get an embossing ink pad and some embossing powder and stamp the image and then emboss it, you can do it with a embossing (heat gun) or I heard you can use a light bulb or a hair drier that takes a like more time to emboss that the embossing gun..
Good luck, hope this has helped at least a bit

I am just getting into stamping after going to a Stampin Up party a few months ago.
You can get 50ct. card/envie sets (I believe 5x7 size or just a bit smaller) for $9.99 at JoAnn (I think they are the same price at Michael's). I am not sure of a price on the smaller notecard type sets. JoAnn has a mailing list you can sign up for ( www.joann.com ) and you will get a flyer in the mail every 2 weeks or so with a 50% off coupon in it to use in the store. (Note: If you don't use the coupons on a consistent basis, they will take your name off the mailing list).
As far as ink pads, if you are only going to be making cards and not using your stamps in scrapbooks then you can use any kind of ink pad you wish. If you want to use the stamps in scrapbooks, you need to get an ink pad that is archival.
I can't suggest a stamp cleaner because I haven't gotten that far with my purchases/supplies yet, but I know Michael's and JoAnn both carry them or Stampin' Up has them.
