"These are a few of my favorite things.."
DD7 is always peeking over my shoulder while I am scrapbooking, so we started a book for her today. The title is "These are a few of my favorinte things..." (like the song from "The Sound of Music" one of Rachel's favorite movies. On each page she uses stickers and fancy papers to make a collage, and then sticks on a small piece of paper on which she journals why this is one of her favorite things. Today she has done cheer-leading and Cinderella. Her pages have turned out beautifully.
I love the idea of having her think about WHY she likes what she likes. She likes Cinderella because she is pretty and kind. This activity is artistic and educational, and I am getting to share a favorite hobby with her. We sat at the table for two hours this morning "making art". Life doesn't get any better than that!

Awww, how precious. Please post pics of her work as I would love to see it. Dh and I are in the process of converting half a storage shed into a scraproom for me and our 15 yr old DD wants to make a scrapbook of her own as soon as it's completed. She has been looking through my scrap magazines for LO ideas and she can't wait to get started. We bought her a digital camera for her birthday this past November and now she wants to scrap every picture she takes. DH is gonna add a little scrap space just for her too and she is so excited. I got a feeling we will be fighting over the Cricut, LOL.

there is nothing more rewarding than sharing a loved hobby with your child. My DD16 has been scrapping with me for the past couple years! Fond memories you'll have of that time together... hmmm... topic for another scrapbook?? LOL

That is so precious! What a wonderful keepsake to take along thru her growing up. Just don't let her change anything when she becomes a teen! LOL
