thrift store deal
I went to the thrift store last night with my mom. I was so excited to find a train table for $20. It's in excellent condition. Retail they run from $150-200.
My kids have a wooden train set, so it's just perfect. They can play with their blocks and legos on it, too.
Last week, I found a ton of vintage cookbooks. I've been having a blast reading through them.If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. I waited years to get one. It just wasn't a priority. I would have paid $40. I saw one before at the thrift store for $50, but it was square and there weren't any drawers. I just couldn't pay $50. I was so thrilled to find one in such excellent condition and shocked to see it priced for $20. Our thrift store has raised its prices a lot.
Should have seen us trying to get it into the minivan. I had to put all the seats down. This meant unhooking all the carseats. Gabe will be less than thrilled when he has to install the carseats again. lol It's quite a job with the way our seats are in the van.
Next up, I'm hoping to find a double stroller or a decent wagon at garage sales. I don't want to pay much because Miranda is 2 and this summer and fall will be the only time I need the double seats. If you'd like to help support Frugal Living by Sara Noel, my syndicated column, e-mail, write, or call the managing editor at your local newspaper and ask them to publish it in print or online. You got some great deals there. I'd hold on to the wooden train table when my kids are finished with it for grandkids. It's one of the classic toys that don't go out of style.
