    Default Super Yard Sale Day

    Today, I braved the 90 degree heat to venture out to a few yard sales. I am so glad I did! I started at 11:00 which is quite late. But one advantage was, I caught a few sales as they were winding down. This enabled me to get some great deals because people just wanted to get rid of it all.

    The picture above shows what I got for a whopping $5.75 to

    * Metal 3 tiered cart for my pantry ($1)
    * 2 Mikasa crystal ornaments (.25 ea)
    * Small Stainless Steel thermos (.25)
    * Harry Potter Sticker Book (new .50)
    * Pampered Chef liquid/solid measuring tube (brand new .50)
    * Plastic Cereal Keeper (.25)

    $2 at one Yard Sale

    Wooden peg rack
    Book "The Kite Runner"
    Blank Hardcover Journal
    Unopened package of weatherstripping
    Book "Gone" by Lisa Gardner

    $1 at Church Yard Sale

    Large unopened Needlepoint Kit
    "Sharon" Coasters (gift for aunt)
    Harry Potter Print Studio CD Rom
    Harry Potter Lego computer game (still sealed
    Beverly Lewis book
    Gary Paulson book (on DS's summer reading list-score!)
    YuGiOh DVD
    Complete Tightwad Gazette Hardcover

    I am so psyched about today's trip! Everything I bought has a purpose, whether it's a gift or something we needed anyway. Usually, I get a little too excited about the deal and don't think about the "Sure but will we use it" factor. So, I was especially proud that I did so well today.

    You did great!!!

    I bought a storage cart like yours a few weeks ago at a yard sale and love it. I use mine in the laundry room next to the washer to hold the detergent, baking soda, fabric softener, small towels/rags.....

    The cart will be used in our pantry to hold smaller items that seem to get strewn across the shelves. Flavor packets, drink mixes, etc. I could not believe I got it for $1!

    Great finds, there was NO WAY I was going to any yards sales in this 95+ degree heat, plus (AND I LOVE YARD SALES) I am trying to cut down on spending of any kind.
