Default Love Those Yard Sale Finds!

I stopped at only 3 yard sales yesterday (amazing feat for me, I can hardly resist them, but had a trip coming up and had to conserve funds!)...but I found a couple of great deals!

Our little town was having it's annual festival, so there were quite a few sales going on.

I stopped at one and found several absolutely ANGELIC little girl's fancy dresses that were well-priced, that I could have resold on Ebay for MAJOR bucks....but alas, all of them had some sort of damage or stain that didn't appear to be repairable/removeable. Also a little boy's tuxedo - perfect on the outside - but the little white shirt had a MAJOR stain on it that wouldn't come out.

But.....at the same yard sale were 3 large boxes of books for $0.25 each. I paid $10 for the lot (excluding the Harlequin romances, which I have no use for), and will group them by author to be resold on Ebay. What doesn't sell on Ebay will go on paperbackswap to be traded for books for myself.

While we were on our trip to take youngest son to his dad for part of the summer, we stopped at a yard sale in a VERY fancy-schmancy hoity-toity beach resort village, and picked up a ac/dc color tv that can be used in our van for long trips. $15 marked down from $35. We'll clean it up, and set it up for use in the van on trips with a portable game system (we already have) or a dvd player (we already have).

All in all, not a bad yard sale day, considering that's not what I really set out to do yesterday!

    You did good.
I love garage sales too. Haven't been to many this year due to gas prices. I noticed Friday, the people across the street were setting one up. I bought a coffee grinder for $1.
Looking out the living room window Saturday, and saw something of interest over there. They had one of those pull around grocery carts (like grandma used to use - LOL) It looked brand new and folded up for convenience. I paid a $1 for it. It will be great for going to the farmers markets and not having to carry stuff! Or just to use for bringing my garden stuffs to the house.
So yes - Yard sales are GREAT

I haven't been to many as I have so many antiques. I stopped at one on the way to the grocery.I started back to work as a supervisor and needed nicer clothing and found one with nice clothes.(ann Taylor, etc) I bought 4 shirts for $1 each and an an antique cameo for $1 that has about a half an ounce of gold around it and a date of 1697.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to more as the summer progresses - we moved to a small country town in January, and I'm finding LOTS of new yard sale stomping grounds!
