Default Another spinoff....How would/do you feel about pre owned jewelry?

If you are a jewelry lover and also a lover of pre-loved items....is jewelry something you also are happy find or be given if it isn't brand new? I for one have a beautiful, vintage 3 stone ring that we got off of Ebay to mark our 30th anniversary. I absolutely love it, couldn't have been anymore pleased if it had been created just for me. Now a family heirloom is a bit of horse of a different color for many (as I imagine that most would be happy to have it in that case, as would I).

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

I don't care if it's expensive, pawn shop or a macaroni necklace, if someone wants to give me jewelry, I am all for it!

I am looking for a 3 stone ring right now. I've been scanning Ebay for a while now, never one in my size

    Exception -- I don't and won't buy used earrings.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I would be happy to get it even if it was second hand.

I love preowned jewelry. My wedding set is a beautiful antique setting with beautiful diamonds in it and it was estate jewelry. I appreciate fine jewelry no matter where it comes from.

My wedding set is 1/2 used. We used my DH mothers diamond and put it in a new set. No sense in letting a good diamond go to waste.
The ring would of never fit me. She was a tiny woman and wore about a size 4 ring.
I still have my first DH wedding band. I am going to see if my DS wants it when he gets married.

My mother gets her jewelry from the local consignment shop. She has gotten some absolutely beautiful pieces that way. Doesn't matter to me!

I have many old pieces that I have gotten at flea markets, antique shops and thrift stores.I love them all!!!....Just recently I was at the Salvation Army and I found a neclace and earring set for 3.99, it is sterling and real amethyst. It polished up beautifully and I wear it quite often!!!

I don't have a problem wearing preused jewelry. Some of the most beautiful pieces I've seen have been in estate sales. Each piece has its own story and I feel I just add another chapter to its book.

OoooOOo I LOVE old (pre-owned/used) jewelry! The styles of the "back in the day" stuff is just so classic. I love the old settings on diamonds-especially the European ones that they don't make anymore. I got a rose cut small diamond ring last year for Christmas from the hubby that my DD picked out-it's pretty..they the ring and the band that came with it fused together because both were worn pretty thin but now it looks like one ring, and besides the center stone it has 15 other small diamonds on it. The only kind of jewelry I don't like is "gold plated" stuff because no matter what the metal is underneath-even if it's sterling, the stuff always looks bad after being worn a few times. My passion is Broaches..gotta love them~!

I don't own a lot of jewelry. I'm not a big jewelry woman. I own three pieces that I regularly wear: my engagement ring, my wedding ring and a diamond pendant I got for my 30th birthday. Any other jewelry that I own is either a gift from my inlaws or are cheap things I just bought at the store (like watches).

I think I'd be ok with getting secondhand jewelry as long as there's some positive significance to it. I'm not a fan of pawn shop jewelry or anything like that.
