Talking Found a Free Side Table

I found a free side table yesterday propped up against the recycle bin at my apartment complex. I had my family over for a barbecue and my mom found a nice metal shoe rack and a wooden bar stool in great condition. Right next to these things was the side table. It's just the right size to keep between our patio chairs on the balcony. I had been looking around for just the right sized table and this freebie is perfect . My mom was also pleased with her finds too!

Isn't it cool to find 'stuff' by the dumpsters!! When we moved in our apartment (they're set up more like ranch-style one-level duplexes), I wasn't too keen about having the unit right by the dumpster but it's paid out so far. Just in the past two weeks we've gotten a kitchen wastebasket, a small bathroom wastebasket, a little girls suitcase with wheels (the only thing wrong with it is the zipper was broken but I've already fixed it), a couple storage containers, a couple cool drinking glasses (shaped like a cowboy boot with DollyWood emblem on them) and a living room chair (it's pleather but we cover it with a slipcover anyway).

BF regularly goes 'curbside shopping'. So far since we moved here he's found 4x6 area rug, an wooden arm chair with upholstered seat, a full size bedframe with boxspring and mattress, a metal kitchen cart with wheels, a large covered storage bin for our aluminum can recycling and two living room chairs (both of which lean to one side and are breaking fast so I know why they were at the curb).

When we needed to get rid of a dinette set and a bookshelf, we just put it in the front yard with a FREE sign on it, and they were both gone within 25 minutes!! Easier than hauling it to the thrift store!! And I was just glad someone else could use it!

Those are great finds and how cool that they are staying out of the landfill.
