Thrift stores packed today!

I went thrifting this morning, and the back-to-school sales were in full swing! The stores were packed with people!

I got:
~2 used (but in great condition) tennis racquets for $1 each, (DD will be on the high school tennis team, and her dad and I can practice w/her!)
~3 "groovy" pillows for my reading corner at school (It's decorated in "groovy" design: daisies, volkswagen vans, peace signs, etc.) for $.25 each
~ 3 blouses for me to wear for teaching for $1.50 each

I heard on the news this morning that people are flocking to thrift stores to save on back to school shopping this year.

You did well. I'd be pleased too.

We're going thrifting this weekend. Will hit the Salvation Army store before trying the mall. Would prefer not to go to the mall at all! But hubby really does need a good pair of jeans. If we can't do thrift, will have to pay retail.

I'd like to pick up a few things for work too.

Good for you. Sounds like some great finds. I also LOVE the Goodwill store. We had to hit JCPenny's this weekend for my DH too. He needed new shoes and a white shirt for work. He is one of the top guys in his office so he should look good but I hated handing over $70.
