    Default The Longest Yard Sale.....

This week I've been enjoying the 127 Corridor 450 mile longest yard sale. It actually started today but people have been setting up their sales since Saturday. The kids and I are having a blast going out to the sales. I haven't bought a lot but found some great deals on what I have got. I've also found a couple of things I've always wanted too.

We did hit one really good sale with good name brand clothing and my dd got some great things. Several blouses, a dress, 2 belts, and some hats. My dd is 21 but looks so cute in a hat. She bought $34.00 worth of clothes some with the tags but she could not have bought one piece new for that. She's racked up and ready to go back to college.

My son is the entrepaneur. He's always on the lookout for things to Ebay and he did really well. Looks like he's going to make some good money.

Oooh I miss the 127 yard sale. I used to live in a small town in TN and the yard sale went right through the middle of town. Have tons of fun...and know someone in Colorado is very very jealous of you!

I would love to be close enough to go! I have seen it on a t.v. special. They followed a few people to see what they found.

I would love to see something like that around here.

Having that many all in one area would be incredible.

Sounds like you scored! I'm jealous! The bargains galore on 64 was this weekend in Arkansas, but I didn't have time to go!

OHhhh, jealous here, too. Have been a few years ago and had a blast. Never got more than a couple miles either way from Crossville.

I must have past you by. I started out in Gadsden Ala and ended up in Danville Ky. I didn't find as many deals as I did last year. There another one coming up in Oct. that plan to go . It's on U.S. Hwy 411.

I did see a bunch of the old blue jars, but they wanted $6-7. a piece. The only place that I saw that had regular mason jars was in a new pack and they wanted $7.00 for a dozen. I can buy them for that at wal-mart so I didn't buy any. We're definitely going back next year. But, we're driving down to Chattanooga and coming back up north. We thought the best of the sale was in Danville, Ky. to Russell Springs, Ky. Hope we get further next year.
There are some good places in Jamestown Tenn and going south to Signal MTN Tenn.

By the way I have so many mason jar I would give then to you.

I would love to be able to go to this sale. It sounds like a lot of fun.

One year, we're going to have to plan out an actual trip to this sale.

I went this year for the first time ever. Actually my DH and I really more than anything wanted to see the scenic portion of the Lookout Mountain Parkway. We started in Gadsden and ended in Chattanooga. We stopped at a couple of parks along the way and just enjoyed the day. I bought two handmade quilts one brand new, and one older one that are about a full size. The old one I got for $40, and the new one was recently hand sewn by a 90 year-old lady, and it had some beautiful colors. I paid $85 for it, and it's a thinner summer quilt perfect for fall in Alabama! Next year I want to go and look more at the sales.
