Smile Good things come to those that wait

Good things come to those that wait (and keep searching).

Here is our good thing story:

My daughter wanted a twirling skirt, a skirt that spins out when she... well spins around. Being seven she thinks that is oh so cool.

We found one on line, major expensive so we wait for it to go on sale. Later when it was 50% off I still couldn't bring myself to click the purchase button. My little girl was sad so we headed straight out to the Salvation Army. No skirts in her size. So we headed over to the grown up section looking for a short full skirt that I could alter. Found one but it seemed to be a summer only print. So Sweetpea reluctantly agreed to keep looking at other places on other days.

Meanwhile, her cousin gives her a pair of hand me down shoes that she loves. I don't love them because they are a strange color. I think the color was called "impossible to match with anything" and it had sequins too. But she loved them so we kept them.

Fast forward to a different state, on a summer trip to visit my mom. While heading back after a zoo trip I decided I really want to go into a children's resale shop. While there, Sweetpea finds a wonderful Twirl skirt that fit perfect and is gorgeous. And the price was right LOL

After we returned home guess what we discovered the skirt matched.

That is right the handme down impossible to match shoes, right down to the same sequins.

She paired the twirl skirt and shoes with 2 hand me down shirts.
So, two outfits that people think we pad a fortune for which we so did not pay a fortune for.

Yes good things come to those that wait and keep searching.

That's awesome. Your little girl must be even more thrilled than you are with her new outfits!

Yes, she was and still is very excited.

A new added bonus: Grandma saw how excited she was with the twirl skirt that she sent her new and diffrent one for her back to school out fit.

I bet those two skirts will be in the wash every week.

Great story and great inspiration to those of us who try to get the best deal for what we want. I'm so glad your dd got the "perfect" outfit.

That's a great story. I love it when things finally fall in place. Sometimes the hardest part is waiting - however impatiently it may be.

What a great story and a good lesson. Glad your little girl found the most perfect swirly skirt of all time. I hope she has many very happy, dizzying twirls in it.
