Where Do For-Profit Thrift Stores Get their Merchandise?
I know that people often donate their used items to non-profit orgainizations such as Goodwill or Salvation Army. But, I know there are for-profit thrift stores too. I'm just wondering where they get the things they sell. Do people still donate there or do the stores buy at yard sales, etc?

There are a couple of charities here that will collect clothing etc. from people and then bring it to the Value Village store and they will will give them money for it,and folk can drop things off and have a donation made to these charities.
I still prefer to give my things to a charity thrift store,I find the prices in Value Village are higher compared to charity stores sometimes higher than the value of the item when bought new.
