I rescued this bike from the trash!
DH and I were out walking on trash night when he noticed this bike at the bottom of a pike of junk. I'd been wanting an English style bike to ride for in town errands, so we took it home.
Here it is after he stripped and painted the frame and replaced various parts. Now I ride it to the post office, the grocery store, the bank, the farmer's market, and just for fun. I get tons of compliments and the parts cost less than $100!

That's very very cool!

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Your bike looks great! I am in the process of reclaiming an old bicycle that I have had for ages. I am not talented at fixing bicycles, so I am going to have some work done (it doesn't shift out of first gear). But I think I'll have a better bicycle in the end than if I bought a cheap one ...

I totally love the baskets! I'm amazed at some things people just throw away instead of donating or even attempting to find another home for the item first. That's a great find for you. Enjoy it and the fresh air while riding!
