    Default Library book sale

Our library as been holding their friends of the library book sale this week, they have it 3 times a year. I always go the first day, and then return again later in the week when they have been thinned down a bit so the choices are not so overwhelming. All paperbacks are 50 cents and hardbacks are $1. Children's and young adults books are 25 cents. On Saturday if you purchase the FOL bag for $5 (it's a nice large tote bag) you can fill it up only on Sat. of every book sale and all the books in the bag will only cost you $1 total. Most people buy the bag once and then never go to the sales except for on Saturdays to only pay $1 for a bag of books. Sometimes if you are buying a lot they just cut you a deal and give you a lower price for the total amount. I always go to every sale they have, but this time, I believe I hit the mother load and just hit it at the right time. This is what I got on Monday and just finally got through going through it all and really being amazed at the amount I got.

(we always read what we get, and keep what we want to reread, use for reference, or add to our collection and then re-donate the rest back for the next book sale for someone else to enjoy)

    6 hardback gardening books
28 mystery novels (both HB and PB, different authors, most are brand new to like new)
9 fiction young adults books for the kiddo
3 old cookbooks (I tried so hard not to get them, I have over 50 and don't need more)
    9 Garfield comicstrip books
5 Charlie Brown comicstrip books (I love Charlie Brown stuff)
4 Calvin and Hobbes comicstrip books
    15 Goosebumps books
    10 Hardy Boys books
    8 classic novels
    5 fiction military/war novels
    14 western novels
    2 christmas crafts books
4 furniture making pattern books (DH's hobby)
    8 historical fiction books
    4 non fiction books
4 textbooks (son will use these to help him learn things a bit better but I also use them to learn new things myself and to refresh so I can help him out when he needs it lol.
    1 home remedy book
    1 home healing book
and finally 2 do it yourselves books

They cut me one heck of a deal and all of that only cost me $32!!!!!! I almost fainted, I have never scored that big at the FOL book sale.

I'm struggling with myself over whether or not I should go back tomorrow. Their next sale isn't until spring.

Awesome score! I've wanted to go to our local library sales, but I haven't made it to one yet. I think you might have just gave me a reason to!

Woo Hoo Great bargains! Don't you just love book sales?! I do too. Our library has a Friends of Library bookstore inside the library and they sell their books for the same price, $1 HB and .50 PB, they always have a great selection, I try to go every other Monday when they are open till 6 (the hours vary by day) and I can go on my way to work. Books are something that I just can't say no too, they are my frugal luxury.
Books are the treasured wealth of the world and the fit inheritance of generations and nations.” --Henry David Thoreau

I love getting second hand books, I always look at yard sales and thrift stores, and I can never say no to a good book for a good price.

    Great score!
