    Default Today's thrift treasures!

I predicted the thrift stores would have a great selection today, and I was not disappointed! DS10 and I went to three stores. Here's what we bought:

#1 I found a NWT sweater vest from "The Children's Place" for DS10 to wear for Easter for $1.50. It's so cute. It's white with a green and brown argyle pattern. I've already washed and laid it out to dry.
    It'll look great with khakis.

I also found several books for my classroom library.

#2 I found a top for myself for my trip to NYC in June.

#3 DS found a Pokemon Monopoly game in like-new condition. He's playing it right now with his best friend.

I bought my 11 yo niece a little skirt to wear with leggings when we go to NYC in June!

    It pays to thrift!!!!

I found a coat for $10. It's one of those that look like a real sheeps wool coat( tan leather outside, white wool inside). This one isn't a real one(like back in the 70's), and it's machine washable.(always a plus! LOL)And it fits! Being a BBW it's hard to find stuff to fit *sigh*

Thanks for the reminder. DH is working today and after we meet for lunch I was going to spend the gift card I got for Christmas. Maybe I'll check out the Good Will and Salvation Army near my house. I like looking for books there...and old kitchen stuff.

The last time DSs and I went to the thrift store (we live about three blocks from our town's ONLY thrift store) we carried home a chair ($9.00) and a set of shelves ($8.00) for DS#1's room. He was in hog heaven but biy, did we look FUNNY carrying this stuff home!

    Great deals!

This reminded me of when I first moved in to a place with roommates. There was a used furniture store up the road. We got all the furnishing for our place from friends and family but we didn't get a kitchen table.
The night we got paid (we worked together) we ran to the store as it was closing and we bought a table and chairs. It was hilarious to watch us walking fast down the street with the table and chairs. It was one of those tables with the glass tops.

I hit goodwill yesterday and was rather pleased. Got:
3 new in package socks for soon to arrive Grandson - 1.00
Cute as can be snowman decoration - 1.99
2 books - 1.99 each - pricey but hardback ones that I have been wanting. Books = my downfall
    Capris for DD 5.99
2 good sweaters for me 4.99 each
    Valentine decoration .50

The cashier even gave me a 10% discount on them all so I actually paid less than I listed above. But have you all noticed thrift store prices have gone up too? Pants used to be 4.99 now they are 5.99.

Excellent...$10 is a great price for a winter coat. Enjoy!

Yes, I have noticed that thrift store prices have gone up. For the most part, our stores still have good prices, but the Sal. Army had a rack with pants that were priced $7 & $8!!!!!!!!!! Holy Cow! I'm used to the $1 and 1.50 racks!!!!!!!!!
