    Default wedding dress

What did everyone do with your wedding dress? Do you still have it or did you sell it?

I sold mine several years ago for $50. I was glad I could make someone happy with it. I knew my dd would not be able to use it so there was no reason to keep it in a box taking up space. Call me unsentimental but my photos are enough....

I gave mine away last year. I sent it to Honduras with our friends who are missionaries there. They have a wedding dress closet so that the young ladies in the town have something special to wear on their wedding day. I couldn't think of a better use for my beautiful dress.

I didn't have a wedding dress. I was married in jeans and a flannel shirt.

I wasn't married in a traditional wedding dress. Just a fancy sundress. I still have it but can't fit into it, LOL.

I still have mine, almost 26 years later. I kept it in case dd wanted to wear it for her wedding, and of course, she didn't lol. She got married in October, and after that I told dh that now I could get rid of it. He convinced me to hang onto it for a short while longer in case our son gets married to a girl who can't afford a dress. You never know so it went back in the closet. It's already been 26 years - whats a couple more.

Once he gets married if it's still here I'll donate it somewhere.

I'm getting married in March - and afterwards will be selling it most likely. Don't think any future kids will want it years and years from now, and I don't need it for sentimental value... I have pictures for that.

I've been married for 8 years and mine is hanging in the closet. I've never liked it, I'm not at all attached to it, I'm not quite sure why I still have it. It still fits.

Didn't like it that much to start with. Bought 2nd hand and hand sewed beads for months to try to make it better. Years later finally cut some of the lace off bottom for daughters and send it on it's way.
BTW they are not happy with what I did. Oh well.

I still have mine. I love that dress....but neither of my daughters will ever wear it. I may save it to make ring bearers pillows and if needed christening gowns out of. I still love that dress......

I actually freecycled it to a young woman who was getting married. I was happy to see it have another life.

I had mine preserved. It's in a box in my closet. My mother was not sentimental and never kept anything from her wedding dress to her china. She sold the china at a garage sale and didn't even ask if I or my sister wanted it. So...I decided to keep my dress for my future child. =)

I still have mine. It is handmade, not fancy, but is pretty. I have no idea what I'll do with it. My DD probably won't wear it if she ever married (She's too tall and it's not terribly fashionable 19 years later). I think I keep it because my DH is very sentimental and would probably be upset if I gave it away.

BTW, Tiffany--I love what you did with your dress. What a wonderful and very generous idea.

I have my dress, I liked it, but don't have any sentimental attachment. I think I'll sell it on E-bay...

also didn't have a traditional wedding dress, just a cute ivory summer dress; but the boots were FANTASTIC! I still have them, I've worn it for other occassions - I wouldn't miss the dress, but I would miss the boots.

((I spent more $ on the boots than I did the dress))
