Default Going to raid the thrift stores today!!

I'm off this morning with my Mom for our monthly trip to town for groceries!
However, with the recent dip$hit law their gonna pass on the "no used kids clothes" I'll be raiding every thrift store within my freakin reach today!!!
I have my $ for my budgeted grocery bill and a couple extra dollars and this morning before hubby left he handed me $200. extra and said, " Knock em dead baby!!!" (he knows about that new law and also thinks it is a dip$hit thing!!)
So, wish me luck, and have an awesome day!!

don't forget to let us all know what you get.

sounds to me as if because of this law, mom's will have to go underground ( so to speak) and have PRIVATE swapping parties.

Good luck in finding treasures among the things at the thrift store. I also think that law is friggen dumb. Here's to finding something useful for your family.

May the angels of thrift be with you & you get alot of good dealsPlease share with us what you find.
Dds' & I hit 2 Goodwills this past Saturday...one store didn't have 1/2 of the children's clothes it use to & I didn't see any toys...but I managed to get a few things. The other store was better & I found alot of kids jeans in various sizes....I need to go through my clothing stockpile & see what else we need to stock up on. Yikes....we still have 5 kids that are still growing.

What is this new "dip$shit law" regarding used kid's clothing? And what is the reasoning (logic) behind it? This is the first time I'm hearing about this.

I think that the used clothing has been eliminated from the list. There are several HUGE threads discussing it. ummm I cant link right now or I'd send it to you.

We all thought it was terrible too. I contacted my congressmen and my local news and I did get a response from my news station stating that the 2nd hand stores will be exempt from this law.

Thanks. I did find another thread regarding this. Good grief I can't wait to see what next the Govt. tell us we can and can't do. Not for nothing but not too long ago there are a generation of us who grew up perfectly fine among what would probably be considered today as horrible/abusive conditions.

When do you think it will become a law to ban Cell Phone Drivers NATIONWIDE though????

Every time I hear of some new wacky law our "elected" officials come up with I just shake my head and think of Bucky Covington's song.

    A Different World
    Bucky Covington

We were born to mothers who smoked and drank
Our cribs were covered in lead based paint
No child proof lids no seat belts in cars
Rode bikes with no helmets and still here we are, still here we are
We got daddy’s belt when we misbehaved
Had three TV channels you got up to change
No video games and no satellite
All we had were friends and they were outside, playin’ outside

    Chorus
    It was a different life
When we were boys and girls
    Not just a different time
    It was a different world

School always started the same every day
The pledge of allegiance then someone would pray
Not every kid made the team when they tried
We got disappointed and that was all right, we turned out all right

    Chorus

    Bridge
No bottled water, we drank from a garden hose
And every Sunday, all the stores were closed

    Chorus

    Chorus

    It was a different world
