Library mother lode
I stopped off at the library today to do some research, and on my way out, I stumbled into their used book sales area. I probably spent an hour just going through all the books and magazines, some free, and none more than $4.00. They had some really great books, and I ended up picking out two hardbacks and two paperbacks, for the whopping donation fee of $2.50. (I donated $5.00, but would have probably spent about $10-15 buying them at a used book store.)
My haul: The McCall's Book of Quilts; American Negro Folklore (I'm "into" mythology of all nations.); Umberto Eco's novel, The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana (possibly next month's book club challenge); and More Scrap Saver's Stitchery.
I by-passed a TON of cooking and crafting magazines, just to keep the clutter down in my house (because I already HAVE a ton of cooking and crafting magazines). Many were free, and I think the most expensive mag was .50.
So, thumbs up on shopping for books at the library!!DH aka Mad Hen

You are sooo lucky! Wow, you were able to get some really good deals. I don't think I would have been able to pass by the cooking and crafting magazines though....lol.

Yeah, I would have filled my bags with more cookbooks and craft magazines. I have to stay away from sales like that but good for you and what willpower!
