    Default Quick Goodwill Stop

Yesterday DH and I made a quick stop at the Goodwill after lunch. Came home with:

    Canning pot w/ rack
    Relish tray
    2 paperback books

    Paid $9.47

Not bad, especially with the canning pot!

Pick up a copy of the Ball Blue Book of Canning or the Kerr canning book to go with your new canner. Both are the 'gold standard' when it comes to canning instruction books.

I would imagine your pot is what I'd call a hot water bath....? You did good! And yes those canning books by Ball or Kerr are great!

LOL...Got them last year and love them! That's why I picked up another pot. I'm going to keep one here, and take one to the farm. I'm really enjoying canning!

That's a great deal! Our Goodwill is getting more commercial cast-offs and clothing. Not much of anything good like that.

Good deals! I popped into Good Will for a "fix" last week & was thrilled to find a brand new Cricut cartridge for $4.99. In the store they are $38.00 on sale... DD # 2 just ordered a Cricut with her birthday money. (The Cricut is not frugal, but she does make a lot of cards & is getting into scrapbooking)

I know the same is true of our Goodwill store... a lot of the defective merchandise from Target stores (and got burned a few times purchasing stuff too!!)

But anyway, you got a really good 'steal' on the canning pot. I wish I could be that lucky to find one .... with the rack to boot!!

I just love thrift stores anyway though!!

Great find!! I've been hoping that I would see a canning pot at Goodwill, but I haven't had any luck yet.
