Smile Super neat find for daughter (and me) 59 cents

I found at our Salvation Army store the American Girl patterns for Samantha for 59 cents. It is a used pattern but all patterns pieces and directions are still there. They look like they were lovingly cared for. They are thick paper patterns not tissue paper patterns.

American girl use to make these back when they were still the Pleasant Company. I know because I wished for the patterns for my Samantha doll back when I was a kid. Apparently, wishes do come true even if it is years later and your Samantha doll now belongs to and is loved by your daughter.

Daughter is so excited she wanted to make something yesterday (30 mins before bed LOL) The patterns makes a party dress, her pinafore dress, nightgown, underthings (petticoat and undershirt), and winter cape/hat/muff I have a feeling she and I will be wanting to make them all.

59 cents for a literal dream come true find

Wow I just check to see what these official American Girl patterns sets where going for on e bay.

The ones with bids ranged for $9.99 to $20.99 and these were a few hopeful people that were asking $85 on the buy it on option.

    59 cents much better

I so happy for my find

Samantha and Nellie and all their stuff has been retired or achieved. No longer for sale. ( I think I remember hearing something in passing about this in Dec)

Now Daughter's over enthusiastic comment "Now Samantha can have her party dress!" makes much more sense. Apparently she knew they didn't have them any more and had wanted/wished for the dress for Christmas but it was already gone.

I'm extra glad we have the patterns now that I full understand that the entire Victorian Era collection of Samantha and Nellie is retired/achieved including the clothes.

Maybe it takes two girls wishes/prayers to make a 59 cents dream come true find at the thrift store.
